Newsletter – December 2009
With this
last newsletter for 2009 we will like to express our thanks for your
cooperation and support throughout the year that is close to past. In many
aspects it has been a tough year for the loudspeaker business but fortunately
we can also look back on a significant number of successfully product launches.
Radio in 3D
During the last months schacoustics
have guided journalist Torben Brandt from DR, the national Danish Broadcasting
Corporation, through the fascinating world of three dimensional sound
reproduction. The bases for the series of four broadcasts are
recordings in the so-called dummy head or binaural technique. The broadcasts
will include description of the technique by leading Danish and international
experts as well as numerous sound examples from daily day life and more
specific situations. More unusual applications as e.g. mission critical
communication in fighter airplanes and tanks are also described and
illustrated by binaural recordings. |

If you want a view into an world that is
unapproachable for most people this week’s episode will include Mr. Jens
Schönemann-Paul’s technical description of the Bang
& Olufsen Advanced Sound System for the for Aston Martin Rapide
as well as binaural
sound recordings from the car interior.
The series is broadcast on DR’s P1 every Monday
evening in December at 8:03 PM and must be listened to using high quality
headphones to give the optimum sonic experience. The programs can even be
streamed directly from the website or downloaded to your own device
via Podcast after the broadcast – unfortunately
only in Danish (…but the sound examples are multilingual ;-)
In the
media
Already in
November the very first review of the BeoSound
Rapide sound system for Aston Martin Rapide
was published by American Road & Track under the headline: ‘First
Ride: 2010 Aston Martin Rapide - Special Feature : Beauty, performance and
seating for four - sounds good!’.
This great
new ground-breaking four door vehicle will be released for customers in the
winter/spring 2010 so the test was made on a quite early prototype.
Nevertheless Shaun Bailey, Road &
Track were very impressed by the sound performance and his final conclusion
was:
‘And I hope it drives as well as it looks,
rides and sounds!’
The sound
performance from the 15 channel 1000+ W sound system in the recently finished
product is even better!!
The new
sound system for Aston Martin Rapide continues the rather successful track from
the state of the art sound systems in Aston Martin DBS/DB9
Coupe and Volante as well as the V8/V12 Vantage Coupe and Roadster models. With
the BeoSound
Rapide Bang & Olufsen now covers the complete range of Aston
Martin standard models.
We wish you
all the best for 2010!
Med venlig
hilsen / Best regards
